DENTON, Texas - Mean Green cross country will make its second-straight appearance in the prestigious Cowboy Jamboree and the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival, cross country coach Sam Burroughs announced Thursday along with the rest of the 2012 schedule.
North Texas will kick off the season with a cross-town trip to UTA on September 8, before returning home to host the 35th annual Ken Garland Invitational on the Mean Green cross country course.
From there, North Texas will travel to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree on September 29th before heading to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Chile Pepper Festival race to finish the regular season on Oct. 13.
The Mean Green women's team will then look to better its second-place finish last season at the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 27 in Bowling Green, Ky.
NT will round out the season by traveling back to Fayetteville for the NCAA South Central Regional on November 9 and then Louisville, Ky., for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 17.
