July 26, 2013
The North Texas men's and women's track and field teams earned Division I All-Academic honors for 2012-13, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced this week.
Five members of the 2012-13 Mean Green track teams, three women and two men, were honored individually: seniors Shahaf Bereni, Clinton Collins and Matthew Russ, sophomore Ashley Henry, and Jo Adams, who graduated in 2013.
To qualify for USTFCCCA all-academic honors, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. For individuals, a student-athlete must have a GPA at least 3.25 and have been ranked in the top 96 nationally for the indoor season, ranked in the top 48 in a relay event, or have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I outdoor championships.
North Texas was one of 111 men's teams and 187 women's teams to earn the distinction.
