Mean Green Women's 4 x 100-Meter Relay Falls Short In National Semi-final
EUGENE, Ore. - Mean Green track & field kicked off the NCAA Outdoor National Championship from Hayward Field Wednesday evening with the women's 4 x 100-meter relay.
The group of Brittani Simmons, Alysha Adams, Missy Barnes and Brittany Blaylock ran in the first of three heats in the national semi-final round and finished fourth in their heat with a time of 44.68 seconds.
Texas A&M and Houston earned heat No. 1's automatic spots in the finals, running 43.41 and 43.68 seconds respectively.
North Texas would end up finishing three spots out of the national championship race, with the two fastest non-automatic qualifying times coming out of heat number three.
Adams is now the lone representative left for the Mean Green in Eugene. The junior will run the 100-meter hurdles tomorrow evening at 7:55 p.m. with the hopes of advancing to the national final Saturday morning.
