VIDEO: Chastity Stewart: The Last Race
Stewart Returns To Eugene For Redemption Chance
Stewart Begins All-America Quest Thursday In Eugene
DENTON -- Graduate student Chastity Stewart returns to Eugene, Ore. for a second chance at competing on the national stage in the 100-meter and 400m hurdles Thursday, June 9, at the 2016 NCAA outdoor track & field championships.
MeanGreenSports.com sat down with Stewart to reflect on her athletic career at North Texas as she prepares for her final race in the outdoor championships broadcasted on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Just two years ago, Stewart was forced to wear a walking boot throughout the 2014 season and finished 24th in the 400-meter hurdles at nationals in Eugene, but injuries took a toll on her mentally.
Fast-forward to Stewart's final season where she has qualified to nationals in two events, and will have that final shot at redemption at a place where it all started.
