Adams Breaks School Record To Advance

AUSTIN, Texas (5/25/13) – Jo Adams punched her ticket to the 2013 NCAA Championships on Saturday evening at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin.

Adams ran a school record 4:15.33 to advance to Eugene, Ore., in the women’s 1,500-meter run. Adams was also the first Texan to cross the finish line.

Chastity Stewart crossed the line in 13.81 in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Stewart wraps up the 2013 season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference All-Conference First Team and one SBC Player of the Week honor.

The women’s 4x100-meter relay team composed of Kayla Savoie, Mona Landry, Ashley Henry and Nadiyah El-Amin finished 24th with a time of 45.96.

North Texas will send three athletes to Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Championships June5-8. This is the first time three Mean Green athletes participating in individual events will go to the NCAA Championships since 1983.
