T&F Heads To Austin For Longhorn Invite

AUSTIN, Texas - The North Texas track and field team heads to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday May 3, at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.

“Having Austin at this point in the season is an excellent confidence booster,” said head coach Carl Sheffield.  “We’ve had great performances throughout the season and this invitation will give us one more chance to improve our execution and performance marks leading into the conference championship.”

In the final meet of the season, North Texas will face Akron, Baylor, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Kentucky, McNeese State, Sam Houston State, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Utah and Virginia Tech.

Field events will being at 12:30 p.m. with the women’s hammer throw, and the men’s will follow. Running events start at 4:45 p.m. with the 4X100-meter relay.

The Mean Green will return to Houston where the Rice Owls host the Conference USA Outdoor Championship at Holloway Track/Ley Field on May 15.
