DENTON, Texas - North Texas track & field is set for its final regular season outdoor meet this weekend when it travels to San Marcos, Texas for the Bobcat Classic, Friday and Saturday.
The Mean Green continues to be led by junior Steven White, who claimed his fourth straight Sun Belt Conference Track Athlete of the Week honor on Wednesday.
White currently sits fourth in the NCAA and eighth among Americans in the 400-meter hurdles, while being a member of the SBC leading 4x100-meter relay and tied for second on the Sun Belt Performance List in the 200-meter dash.
Senior Sara Dietz will pace the women's side for NT. The senior is No. 1 on the SBC Performance list in both the 800 and the 1,500-meter run.
After a strong showing at last week's Michael Johnson Invitational, the women's high jumpers are looking to make another splash in the conference rankings.
Sophomore Shahaf Bareni is now second in the event with her career-high mark of 1.75 meters, with three other Mean Green athletes following behind her in the top-10.
The Bobcat Classic will begin Friday at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer. Saturday's running will start a 9 a.m. with the 5,000 meter run. All events will be contested at the Texas State Track & Field Stadium.
