Pierson Selected As Sun Belt Women's Track Athlete Of The Week
DENTON, Texas - North Texas freshman Roshunda Pierson was named the Sun Belt Conference's Women's Track Athlete of the Week For her performance at the 83rd annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays this past weekend.
Pierson set the school record in the 400 meter hurdles amongst the best competition in the nation at the Texas Relays, running the race in 1:00.44.
Pierson won the invitational heat Saturday afternoon, after qualifying 11th in the preliminaries.
The freshman's time currently ranks first in the Sun Belt Conference, 1.35 seconds ahead of the next fastest time.
This week's selection marks the fourth performer of the week selection for North Texas during the outdoor season.
The Mean Green will be back in action when it hosts the North Texas Classic this weekend from Fouts Field.
