Victoria Junious Among C-USA Spirit Of Service Honorees

April 5, 2017

IRVING – In recognition of her community service efforts, junior track & field student-athlete Victoria Junious was one of 14 student-athletes that will receive the Conference USA Winter Spirit of Service Award, C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced Wednesday.

The C-USA Spirit of Service Award recognizes the community service efforts of the league’s student-athletes, based upon significant public service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport. The Spirit of Service Award will be presented three times throughout the season, with today’s honorees representing Conference USA’s winter sports: men's and women's basketball, men’s and women's swimming and diving, and men's and women's indoor track and field.

Junious, a member of the North Texas track & field program, has a decorated list of service to her community. The junior has been a member of SAAC since 2014 and held the title of president from 2016-17. Furthermore, she has worked with the Denton County Friends of the Family Donations center as a coordinator, as a Thank-A-Thon volunteer, a Shepherd’s Hand Food Pantry volunteer and in the Santa’s Helpers Toy Drive, to name a few.

In the classroom, the Arlington, Texas, native maintains a 3.985 GPA in kinesiology with a minor in allied health. She is a three-time C-USA Academic Medal honoree and a four-time member of the President’s List. On the track, Junious has placed in the top five in several running events throughout her first three seasons, including a first-place finish in the distance medley relay at the Aggie Team Invite earlier this year.
