Adams Receives Fourth SBC Weekly Honor

DENTON, Texas - North Texas senior Alysha Adams was named the Sun Belt Conference's Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, Tuesday afternoon.

Adams shattered her own school record Saturday afternoon at the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 13.08 seconds.

That time is good enough the rank fifth in the nation, third in the NCAA West region, is the seventh fastest time run in the world this year and fourth fastest by an American born runner this season.

The announcement Tuesday marks the fourth time that Adams has received the honor and the second time in as many weeks during the outdoor season.

Mean Green track & field will take 24 athletes/events to the 84th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas this weekend. Competition begins Wed. April 6 and concludes Sat. April 9 from Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.
