Three School Records Top Off Texas Relays
AUSTIN, Texas - Three school records marked the end of the 83rd annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays from Mike A. Myers Stadium for Mean Green Track & Field Saturday.
The women's 4 x 100 meter relay, featuring Missy Barnes, Brittany Blaylock, Brittani Simmons and Alysha Adams started off the record breaking by finishing in 44.76 seconds, only .58 seconds out of second place.
Adams then went on to run the 100-meter hurdles final, where she finished .01 behind the school record with the time of 13.41.
The women's 4 x 200 relay kept it rolling with another record of their own. Blaylock, Barnes, Janesa Moore and Simmons finished fourth in their heat but fifth overall with a time of 1:35.70.
The third record belonged to Roshunda Pierson. Running in the 400 meter hurdles invitational section, Pierson ran a first place time of 1:00.44.
The men's 4 x 400 meter relay ran its fastest time of the season to close out the meet for North Texas, finishing in third place with a time of 3:08.63.
The Mean Green will be back in action this week when it host's the North Texas Classic at Fouts Field.
