ARLINGTON, Texas - North Texas track & field wrapped up its second outdoor meet of the season on Saturday when it finished the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational at Maverick Stadium.
Junior Steven White, who entered the meet No. 4 in the nation in the 200-meter dash, collected a 21.19 second finish in the event for a sixth place finish.
Teammate Clinton Collins collected his first wind legal time in the 200, finishing eighth with a time of 21.30 seconds. That time would be second in the Sun Belt Conference.
The women's high jump was a bright spot for the Mean Green again, with North Texas claiming four of the top seven spots.
Sophomore Shahaf Bareni grabbed a third place finish with her second 1.70-meter jump of the outdoor season, with Suzy Prikryl finishing sixth with a 1.65 meter clear. Chelsea Hermes and Haley Thompson tied for seventh at 1.60-meters.
The women's 4x100-meter relay opened the running portion of the meet for North Texas with its own third place finish, with DeOna Stafford, Janesa Moore, Nadiyah El-Amin and Tytana Thornton combining for a 45.75 second time.
Freshman Chastity Stewart recorded the fastest 100-meter hurdle time for North Texas this season when she crossed the line in 14 seconds flat. That time would be the second-best time in the event in the Sun Belt Conference this season.
Mean Green track & field will be back in action at the prestigious Texas Relays, which begin Wednesday, March 28 through Saturday, March 31 in Austin, Texas.
