Wehr Honored as SBC Performer Of The Week

DENTON, Texas (1/27/09) For a second consecutive week the North Texas track and field team has been honored by the Sun Belt Conference. Sophomore Jordan Wehr was tabbed as the SBC Men’s Field Performer of the Week after his career day in the heptathlon at the Razorback Invitational this past weekend.

Wehr set a school-record by compiling 5094 points. He was first in the pole-vault (16-02.75), fourth in the 1000-meter run (3:02.50) and 60-meter hurdles (8.56), fifth in the 60-meter dash, sixth in the high jump (6-02.25) and long jump (21-04.25) and seventh in the shot put (35-11.50).

 

The award comes one week after Toby Edwards (field) and Lauren Wiggins (sprints) were named SBC Performers of the Week.

 

North Texas does not have a meet this weekend, but they will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Houston Invitational.
