Track & Field Start Indoors at Texas A&M

DENTON, Texas - Mean Green track & field will begin the 2011 Indoor season at the Texas A&M Conference Challenge in College Station, Texas on Saturday.

Twelve schools from four conferences will come together in a meet scored by conference affiliation.

Week One Notes

Representing the Sun Belt Conference along with North Texas will be ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette.  The three Sun Belt schools will be competing with schools from the Big 12 (Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma), Southland (Northwestern St., Stephen F. Austin, UTA) and the SWAC (Prairie View A&M, Southern, Texas Southern).

The meet will begin with the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles at Noon, followed by the prelims of the 60-meter dash.

After a stellar junior season which included six All-Sun Belt Conference recognitions (three indoor and three outdoor) and a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter hurdles, senior Alysha Adams starts the indoor season ranked 17th in the nation in the 60-meter hurdles.
