Adams Finishes 17th in 100-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. (6/10/10) -- North Texas junior Alicia Adams finished 17th in her final race of the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field Thursday night.

Running in the 100-meter hurdles, Adams turned in a 13.38 second time and finished sixth in the second of three heats.

Adams also participated in the only other entry the Mean Green sent to the 2010 outdoor championships, the women's 4 x 100-meter relay, which was held last night.

The group of Brittani Simmons, Adams, Missy Barnes and Brittany Blaylock finished 11th overall and three spots outside of qualifying for the national final.

With two entries in the championships, North Texas has now been represented in the last six NCAA Outdoor Championships held, dating back to 2005 when Kory Williams finished 24th in the 400-meter hurdles.
