White Breaks School Record To Finish Third

EUGENE, Ore. (6/7/13) – North Texas senior Steven White finished his career with a third-place finish in the men’s 400-meter hurdles in a school record 49.32 at the NCAA Championships on Friday evening.

White’s third-place finish is the best for North Texas by an individual or relay team since Bill Schmidt finished second in the men’s javelin at the championships in 1970.

White, who qualified for the USTFCCCA All-America First Team, will participate in the event at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on June 19-23 held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Shahaf Bareni will compete 22nd in the final of the women’s high jump at 12:45 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday. Live results for the NCAA Championships can be found at Flash Results.
