- North Texas 'Track & Field advanced two events to the NCAA National Championships for the sixth straight year from Mike A. Myers Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Mean Green started off the night with the women's 4 x 100 meter relay team. Brittani Simmons, Alysha Adams, Missy Barnes and Brittany Blaylock turned in a time of 44.61 seconds, which was good enough for 10th and a trip to the semi-finals.
Just over one hour later, Adams would go on to qualify individually in the 100-meter hurdles, taking third in her heat and ninth overall with a 13.31 second sprint.
The 200-meter dash saw Keyth Talley just miss out on North Texas' third invitational to Eugene, Ore., when he ran a 21.40.
Also in the 200-meter, Blaylock recorded a 16th place finish, turning in a 23.86.
The men's 4 x 400 meter relay capped off the NCAA Qualifying Round for North Texas. The Mean Green was in third when it handed off the baton for the fourth and final leg, but Reggie Hayter pulled up with an injury.
The NCAA Championships will be held June 9-12 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
