T&F Completes Day One At C-USA Outdoor Championship
The MEan Green Started Off C-USA Outdoor Championships With Two Personal Bests

HOUSTON -The Mean Green’s Deja McKnight set a personal record in the women’s hammer throw, to start off the Conference USA Track & Field Championships this Friday, in Houston, Texas.
McKnight’s ninth-place finish led the way for the Mean Green. Her throw of 48.67m increased the personal-best set earlier this season, at the UTEP Invitational, by over one meter. Sophomore Ngozi Nweke finished in the top-20 with her throw of 43.98m. Classmate Kandace Rose had her fourth longest throw at 38.85m.
In the 10,000m, Silvester Harrison III put the men’s team on the map in 32:03.60. His eight-place finish earned the first points of the meet for North Texas. Freshman Grady Frazier time of 32:53.47 was a personal-best and 13th place finish.
On the women’s side, Shauna Pali was 12th with a time of 37:55.49, just off her lifetime-best which she posted at the Mt. SAC relays this season.
North Texas men’s team sits in ninth place, concluding today’s competition. The conference championships will continue Saturday, May, 17 with the women’s high jump at 3 p.m. and men’s 1500m run at 5 p.m. For live results throughout the championship click here.
