Seven Podium Finishes Mark Final Outdoor Meet

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Seven Mean Green track & field top-three finishes marked the completion of the 2012 outdoor season at the Bobcat Classic on Saturday.

The women's high jump lead the way for North Texas as Shahaf Bareni captured her second-straight event title in a jump-off with teammates Haley Thompson and Chelsea Hermes. The trio cleared the final bar at 1.70 meters.

Freshman Jo Adams took second place in the 800-meter run, besting teammate and Sun Belt Conference leader Sara Dietz by a little over a second in 2:10.03.

The men's side saw sophomore Clinton Collins post the 14th-fastest 400-meter time in the NCAA West Region when he took first overall in 46.55 seconds. That time is good enough to extend his lead on the SBC Performance List in the event.

CJ Fowler and Johnny Hickman also collected top-five finishes when the duo took second and fourth respectively in the 200-meter dash.

Fowler tabbed a 21.28 second time with Hickman right on his heels in 21.77 seconds.

Mean Green track & field will be back in action May 11-13 when it travels to Lafayette, La., for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of ULL.
