Clark Breaks School Record, Landry Stuns at Bobcat Invite

SAN MARCOS, Texas--Track had a successful weekend at San Marcos, breaking a school record and landing multiple athletes on the NCAA performance lists.

"Victoria Clark becomes the new school record holder in the Hammer Throw,"

said head coach Carl Sheffield.

Tori Clark's 55.14m hammer throw not only earned her first place this weekend, it also got her a school hammer throw record.

Mona Landry placing first in the women's long jump with a 6.12m jump also had a good weekend, and finishing third in the 100m with a time of 11.73. Eddie Wilcox placed third in the men's high jump with a 2.01m jump, and Jazmine Martin placed fourth in the women's triple jump with a 12.20m jump.

Landry also helped the women's 4X100 relay team of Chianne Lowe, Mona Landry, Siara Obasuyi, and Rhenique Williams finish second.

The men's 4X400 relay team of Connor Bey, Caleb Pryor, Kedron Sowells, Collin Heard finished first. Heard also finished fifth in the men's 200m with a PR of 20.79.



"We continued our assault on the Conference USA performance list. Several athletes upped the ante by moving up the list and getting into the NCAA Performance list," said Sheffield.

Some other big finishes for North Texas include Dominique Best, who placed fifth in the 100m hurdles (14.61) and fourth in the long jump with a 5.71m jump.

Deja McKnight and Ngozi Nweke took sixth and seventh, respectively in the women's hammer throw with 49.90m and 49.25m throws. Nweke also placed sixth in women's discus throw (45.59m).

Zach Kirkland's sicth place 800m time of 1:52.83 was a big PR for him. Christina Moralez also had a season-best in the women's 800m, where she placed fifth with a time of 2:17.06.

Riley Donovan and Andrew Smith placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the men's hammer throw, with 47.78m and 47.68m throws. Derek Richard placed sixth in pole vault with a 4.67m vault.

"The team had lots of seasons bests today," Sheffield said.
