WACO, Texas - North Texas track & field nabbed five top-five finishes Saturday at the Michael Johnson Invitational which was hosted by Baylor University.
Seniors Alysha Adams and Jordan Wehr led the way for the Mean Green with a third place finish each.
Adams grabbed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.28 seconds. Currently her fast time of 13.08 seconds holds down the top spot in the Sun Belt Conference.
Wehr, competing in the pole vault, cleared the bar at 5.05 meters which was also good enough for third place.
Christal Brewster registered a fourth place finish the pole vault on the women's side with a vault of 3.80 meters. The senior's season-high currently sits second in the SBC at 3.95 meters.
The 1500-meter run had Matt Russ taking fourth place overall in the afternoon session with a time of 3:59.94 seconds while the women's 4x100-meter relay team also tabbed a fourth place finish.
Sophomore Steven White crossed the line in sixth place in the 400-meter hurdles in 52.55 seconds. He currently sits second in the conference with a time of 52.12 seconds.
Shahaf Bareni took the highest finish in the high jump for the Mean Green as she cleared 1.70 meters and grabbed a '10th place finish. That height was good enough to move her into a tie for third place in the SBC with teammate Haley Thompson.
The Mean Green will be back in action next weekend when it splits to travel to either the Drake Relays or host the Mean Green Twilight.
