The North Texas track and field’s Nadiyah El-Amin was a double event winner at the 45th Annual John Jacobs Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma, Saturday April 19.
The Mean Green women won the 4X100-meter relay with a time of 45.59. The team of Kayla Savoie, Rhenique Williams, Nadiyah El-Alin and Mona Landry were just shy of their season best (45.57) which they posted last weekend at the UTEP Invitational.
In the 200-meter dash, El-Amin picked up her second win of the meet with her time of 24.02, while sophomore Ashley Henry placed third in 24.50.
On the men’s side, freshman Collin Heard was the event winner in 21.04, right behind him was senior Clinton Collins who ran 21.15.
In the field events, Freshman Elisha Peters won the women’s high jump, setting a season best of 1.78m.
Mona Landry was the top qualifier in the long jump in 5.73m. This was the second weekend in a row Landry took first in the event after coming back from a week off.
Senior Tom Kalisky was the sole competitor for the Mean Green in the men’s javelin throw. His distance of 60.04m was fourth in today’s competition.
Another North Texas winner was Marcus Wooten
, who took the 400m hurdles with is time of 54.18.
Finishing the John Jacobs Invite were top-three performances from Collin Heard and Kedron Sowells. They finished second and third in the 100m dash with their times of 10.65 and 10.78.

The track & field team will head to Houston on April 26, to compete in the J. Fred Ducket Twilight Invitational.
