WALNUT, CA -- Sophomore distance runner Susannah Lynch broke a school record to highlight North Texas track & field's California trip on April 13-15.
The Mean Green participated in two meets in California at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays.
On Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Lynch broke the school record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:56.46. Lynch beat out former student-athlete Jessica Schmidt's time of 16:57.13 set in 2004.
Junior Christina Moralez finished with a career-best time of 17:04.48 in the 5000-meter event. Her time was the second best performance in school history. Senior Kylee Kittrell set a new personal best time of 17:52.83 in the 5000m run.
Former North Texas student-athlete and current volunteer assistant coach Troy Taylor finished first in heat two in the 5000m run with a time of 14:11.43.
On Friday, freshman Breanna Eckels finished 2nd in long jump at 6.12 meters. Senior Jazmine Martin finished 11th at the Bryan Clay with a triple jump of 11.87 meters.
On Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays, senior James Coleman finished second in the 10000-meter run with a time of 29:52.86 and junior Mike Lowe came in third at 29:53.89. Both times qualified for top-five all-time school performances at second and third.
-Sophomore Kellee McCann finished with a personal-best time of 17:53.96 in the 5000-meter run
-Sophomore Cassidy Adams touched in at 19:30.15 in the 5000-meter run
-Sophomore Alex Cleveland finished 13th with a time of 15:04.43 in the 5000m run
-Martin finished 12th in triple jump at the Mt. SAC relays at 11.53 meters
-Eckels jumped 5.96 meters at the Long Beach Invitational
