T&F Begins North Texas Classic Strong

DENTON, Texas -The North Texas track and field team posted three personal-best hammer throws, to begin the North Texas Classic on Friday, April 4.

"We had a good performance today, with three personal bests," said assistant coach Brendon Kelso. "We've seen a lot of consistency and the goal is to continue to get better each week we compete."

Ngozi Nweke performance of 48-53, was enough to place her third in today's competition. Teammates Tori Clark and Kandace Rose also recorded a personal-record with throws of 45-76 and 41-18.

Events on Saturday begin at 9 a.m. with the pole vault, javelin and shot put. Running will begin at 1 p.m. with the 4X100 relays.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth; the event is free for students with a valid ID. For more information regarding the North Texas Classic, click here.
