North Texas is Successful in the Final Day of the Texas Relays
Texas Relays Results
AUSTIN--North Texas field and distance athletes had a strong showing on the last day of the 2015 Texas Relays. Saturday's competitions consisted of mostly high school and international events.
"This was the first outdoor meet for our mid-distance group and I was really pleased with the effort everyone gave," said distance coach Stefanie Slekis. "We've put in a big training block the past months since indoor conference to prepare to run fast in May. Even on tired legs we had a strong showing."
"I'm excited for the rest of the distance group to open their outdoor season next week at Baylor," Slekis said.
North Texas will have only a five-day turnaround before they compete in Waco at the Baylor Invitational.
"We still have a few more key workouts until we race on fresh legs, but the whole group is already showing that we are on track for our big end of season goals," Slekis said.
