FORT WORTH--North Texas field athletes had many strong finishes at this weekend's Horned Frog Invitational.

This was North Texas's first outdoor meet of the 2015 season. Even with a thirty minute delay due to heavy rain and fog, North Texas still had a strong showing just one week before the Texas Relays, one of the biggest meets of the season.

Senior Jessica McNew placed second in the women's pole vault with a 3.36m vault. Sophomore Jazmine Martin also placed second in the women's triple jump with an 11.86m jump. Eddie Wilcox placed third in the men's high jump (1.94m).

Freshman Kevone Kennedy placed 5th in men's discus throw with a 46.57m throw and 7th in the men's hammer throw (46.28m). Freshman Lafiel Smith placed fourth in the long jump with a 6.51m jump.
