Wehr Takes Fifth In Heptahtlon In Iowa

AMES, Iowa -- North Texas track & field completed the Friday session at the Iowa State Classic with a couple of top-ten finishes.

Senior Jordan Wehr set a season high in the heptathlon, scoring 5,115 points in his two days of competition in Iowa.

Chelsea Hermes was the other Mean Green multi-event athlete in action this weekend as she claimed a sixth place finish with 3,287 points in the pentathlon.

Senior standout sprinter Alysha Adams registered the fastest time of all North Texas women in the 200-meter dash Friday afternoon, when she crossed the line in 24.41 seconds. Adams took fifth in the race, just five places ahead of teammate Ciara Smith.

Freshman Clinton Collins led the men's side in the 200-meter dash as he claimed a 12th place finish in 21.83 seconds.

Competition will continue Saturday morning from the Lied Recreation Center on the campus of Iowa State.
