Mean Green Track & Field Finishes Collegiate Classic
Mean Green Set Focus On Conference USA Championships Next Week
FRISCO – The North Texas track & field competed at the Collegiate Indoor Classic Friday night inside the Ford Center.
The Mean Green only sent a handful of student-athletes to participate in the Collegiate Classic. With a lot of teams competing, a two-hour delay put the schedule of events behind for the day. North Texas didn’t get to compete in the men’s or women’s 200-meter dash.
Junior Chelsea Crayton finished 23rd in the 60-meter hurdles prelims at 9.25. Junior Tevaun Scallion came in 15th place in the 60m hurdles prelims with a time of 8.39.
In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Bria Williams finished 26th with a time of 7.87. Junior DJ Simon came in 51st in the 60m dash at 7.26.
Sophomore Blake Skoog finished eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 3.60 meters. Gabriel McAdams came in fifth in the pole vault at 4.90 meters
In the women’s weight throw, Linnea Larsson-Huusko came in fifth with a collegiate-best throw of 16.03 meters.
-Freshman Karl Sralla finished 24th in the shot put with a mark of 12.78 meters
-Junior Kevone Kennedy finished in 11th in the weight throw at 15.75 meters
-Freshman Kristyn Archuleta came in 24th in the weight throw at 11.51 meters
-Sralla came in 18th in the weight throw at 14.76 meters
-Archuleta finished 17th in the shot put with a season-best throw of 11.03 meters
North Texas will head to the 2017 Conference USA indoor championships in Birmingham, Alabama starting on Feb. 18.
