Troy Taylor joined the Mean Green athletic staff in November of 2010 as the assistant athletic director for ticket operations. In June of 2013 he moved over to the business department as the associate athletic director of business operation.
As the ticket manager, Taylor managed the daily operations of the North Texas Athletic Ticket Office, works closely with marketing and development staff to develop and communicate strategies for ticket sales and renewals, and contributes to the continued development of ticket operations at North Texas, with respect to the use of technology, customer service, and donor and season ticket holder relations.
Taylor was also charged with creating and managing a ticket sales staff responsible for generating ticket sales revenue for North Texas athletics. The sales staff focuses on new season ticket sales and group ticket sales. The ticket sales staff collaborates with marketing and the Mean Green Club to build strong relationships with North Texas alums and fans.
Prior to coming to North Texas, Taylor served as the senior accountant for ticket operations at the University of Miami (FL)for the last year and a half. While with Miami, he was responsible for the financial accounting of a $20 million ticket revenue budget, including ticket sales and donations. He also provided assistance in sales reporting for ticket sales and donation revenue reporting. Taylor's other duties included acting as an event supervisorfor soccer, baseball and men's basketball. For football, he oversaw all pass gate policies and procedures to ensure all NCAA and university guidelines were followed.
Taylor started out his career in collegiate athletics at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. He was the assistant athletics business manager from January of 2006 to February of 2009. At Texas State, Taylor oversaw purchasing, travel, receivables collection, audits and payroll processing. He also served as a central team contact for entities both inside and outside of the department of athletics. Taylor also assisted on game days in areas such as game operations and ticket operations.
Taylor received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. He earned his master of business administrationfrom Texas State University in 2008. Taylor is a native of Levelland, Texas.
