Trey Askew starts his eighth year at North Texas as the facilities coordinator. Askew came to North Texas from Mississippi State where he worked as a student within the athletic department.
Askew started at North Texas as a facilities intern in 2006 and moved up to the facilities coordinator in June of 2007. He oversees the maintenance of the Mean Green athletic field and buildings. He is also the game manager for soccer and swimming and diving, and is the grounds person for softball. He also helps with the football, basketball, and tennis games.
Askew received his bachelor's degree from Mississippi State in fitness management in December of 2005. While at Mississippi State, he worked in game operations, took care of the facilities, painted the practice football, soccer, softball, and baseball fields, and helped with the game management.
During the 2005-06 season, he volunteered in the athletic weight room, working with the football and baseball student-athletes. He also umpired college baseball.
Askew also worked as a student trainer at East Mississippi Community College, working with football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.
