Scott Hobbs joined the North Texas athletic department in May 2013 as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. In his role, Hobbs oversees the athletic compliance office and is the lead person on all NCAA compliance related initiatives. Hobbs is also the sport administrator for the women’s soccer program.
Hobbs came to North Texas from the University of Kansas after spending two and half years as director of compliance. Before Kansas, Hobbs was at Boise State as the assistant athletic director for compliance. Hobbs served in the same positions at Murray State and Maine before moving to Boise State.
Hobbs was born in San Diego, Calif., but attended high school at Longmeadow, Mass. While there he played football, basketball and baseball. He then played four years of football and one season of basketball at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he graduated with a degree in industrial and management engineering.
Hobbs earned a law degree from Capital University and a master's degree in sports administration from Canisius College.
He and his wife, Christina, and their son, Camden, reside in Denton.
