Paul Batchelder enters his 11th year with North Texas Athletics. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Marketing brings 22 years of athletic administrative experience to the North Texas staff. Prior to joining to the Mean Green in July of 2003, Batchelder served as the assistant athletic director at Southern Miss.
His primary areas of responsibility at North Texas involve direction of athletic marketing and promotional efforts, enhancement of student and fan participation, enhancement of game-day atmosphere and assisting with all phases of event management and operations. He also oversees, advertising, much of the departments print production, all athletic merchandising, day to day operations of the university and athletic licensing program, and internal support groups.
He has served the university and represented the athletic department on several different committees including, graphic identity, marketing, tradition, spirit, drug & alcohol coalition, inauguration, and recreational sports and leisure studies. He is also a member of several industry associations including NACDA, NACMA and NCLA.
A native of upstate New York, Batchelder received his bachelor's degree from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and went on to earn a Master's of Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in educational administration. His wife Jennifer, of 17 years, is very active in the philanthropic community with Denton County Friends of the Family, and Denton Benefit League. The couple is actively involved with Faith United Methodist Church and youth sports; they have two sons Kalyn (16) and Lane (14).
