Nick Nagel was promoted to senior associate athletic director for facilities and events in September 2015 and is entering his 11th year with the North Texas Athletic Department.
In his current role, Nagel is a member of the athletic department's senior staff and serves as the sport supervisor for the swimming & diving program. He also oversees the day-to-day operations for all of North Texas’ athletic facilities and serves as the department lead on short and long-term facility improvements and capital projects. In addition, he serves as the department liaison to UNT Campus Planning and Facilities.
Nagel is also responsible for the execution of all events including intercollegiate athletic contests as well as special events. His responsibilities include overseeing event scheduling, emergency and crowd management, facility setup and breakdown, financial management, policy development and ensuring a safe and fan friendly environment for all guests. He also manages the departments game and vendor contracts.
Nagel earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from St. John's University (NY) in 2004. He went on to receive his master's degree in sport management from West Virginia in 2007, where he served as a graduate assistant in facilities and event management.
Nagel and his wife, Jennifer, have a son, Hunter, who was born in April of 2014.
