Kayla Spears begins her first year as the coordinator for marketing and promotions after interning with the athletic department for the last year.
At North Texas, Spears is responsible for assisting in the development of promotional plans for all 16 Mean Green athletic programs. She oversees the Mean Green marketing social media outlets. In addition, she will develop, coordinate and implement individual game promotions for women's soccer, women's volleyball, swimming and diving, women's softball and tennis. She will assist in the game day operations in football, men's and women's basketball. Spears also assists North Texas in hosting Sun Belt Conference championships.
Spears is a 2011 graduate of the University of North Texas, receiving a double major in merchandising and hospitality management. As an intern with the North Texas marketing department, she worked with a variety of teams and was involved with the Sun Belt Men's and Women's Conference Championships in Hot Springs, Arkansas and the tennis championships at the Waranch Tennis Complex in Denton.
As a student, Spears was involved in a number of campus activities, including the Talons (3.5 years) and the Housing Department (RA\Sr. RA for 2.5 years at Crumley Hall).
Spears has assisted in building the Homecoming Bonfire all four years at North Texas, was an emcee at the Clark Park Pep Rally, helped with Boomer the Cannon, and the lighting of the tower green for victories.
