Javier Espinoza began working with the North Texas athletic department as an athletic trainer working with the Mean Green football team in 2017.
Prior to joining the Mean Green, Espinoza was the head athletic trainer at Cameron, overseeing 11 teams and over 170 students from 2015-17. He also worked at Howard Payne as an assistant athletic trainer from 2014-15, working with football, basketball and tennis.
In addition, Espinoza was an assistant fitness director at LA Fitness Sports clubs from 2009-11 and worked with the Dallas Cowboys as a summer intern in 2014.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Espinoza is a North Texas alum and received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2009. He volunteered with the Mean Green sports medicine department, and did his observation hours with the Mean Green staff for requirements for graduate school. He earned his graduate degree in athletic training at Stephen F. Austin State in 2014.
Espinoza is a board-certified and state-licensed athletic trainer and a corrective exercise specialist.
