Jaime Livas began working with North Texas Athletics during the 2014 season. He came to North Texas after spending 15 years working in television news, sports, commercial and live event production in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
He studied media production at Edinburg High School, and started working in local news during his senior year of high school. He earned his bachelor's degree in Radio, TV, Film from the University of North Texas in 2003.
At North Texas Athletics, Livas is responsible for the management, direction and oversight of the entertainment and informational video production arm of athletics, Mean Green Productions. Mean Green Productions produces web content for MeanGreenSports.com and its various social media platforms and other media outlets. Such projects include: student-athlete interest features, various sports highlights and wrap packages, departmental-wide promotional videos , internal comminucation videos and press conferences and coaches shows.
His duties also include the hiring and development of the game-day production crew, which is comprised of Media Arts / Journalism students and interns. He is responsible for building relationships within the UNT media colleges to recruit students and give them a hands on real-world learning environment where they can put the skills they learn in the classroom into practical use.
Livas, along with his student based crew, ushered in a new era in Mean Green Athletics when they began producing live broadcasts of Mean Green football and basketball for ESPN3 and beIN college sports during the 2016 2017 season. He also coordinates, produces and directs production crews for all non - televised games web streamed on CUSATV.com, live in-game video board production as well as special event productions where North Texas Athletics venues and video boards are used.
He works with the Director of Creative Content, Marketing and Mean Green Sports Properties, to help create engaging in-game entertainment and fulfill the digital advertising needs of North Texas Athletic sponsors.
On game days, he also works to fulfill local and national media video requests, as well as aide national tv broadcast entities like ESPN, Stadium, CBS Sports, and BeIn College to make sure their technical needsand questions are fulfilled. In addition he and his crew provide game footage, practice footage, press conference footage to Beyond the Green.
Livas also oversees production of Mean Green Productions Presents. Aong with Assistant Director Zac Powell, he also produced, photographed and edited, the Born and Bred series. The team is also responisble for many of the department's documentray style features.
Livas, along with former Assistant Director of Digital Media, Matt Czizek and student-intern, Caleb Karrenbrock; produced the Sports Video Group Award Nominee Special Feature, A Place to Call Home." He Co-Produced, photographed, and edited the project.
