Cinnamon Sheffield, associate athletic director for student services, is in her 13th year at North Texas. She joined the athletic department in 2001 as the compliance director, which primarily deals with NCAA and Sun Belt rules and regulations, student-athlete eligibility and the university's liaison to the NCAA.
In 2002, she also took on the role as the Senior Woman Administrator which encompassed student welfare issues as well as Title IX and gender equity issues.
In 2006, the department restructured and Sheffield was elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Student Services. This position oversees both Compliance and Academics. She manages the Mean Green Student Services Center, which provides resources for the student-athletes' success.
An outstanding track athlete at LSU, Sheffield was a 10-time All-American and competed on four outdoor national championship teams for the Tigers. She earned her bachelor's degree from LSU in 1992 and her master's degree from Texas Christian University in 1995. She coached track at TCU from 1993-2001 before coming to North Texas.
