Complimentary Admissions

NCAA Rules

Institutional Events in the Student-Athlete's Sport

An institution may provide four complimentary admissions per home or away intercollegiate athletics event to a student-athlete in the sport in which the individual participates (either practices or competes), regardless of whether the student-athlete competes in the contest.

Exception-Postseason Events

An institution may provide each student-athlete who participates in or is a member of a team participating in a postseason event (e.g., conference championship, NCAA championship, National Invitation Tournament, bowl game) with six complimentary admissions to all intercollegiate athletics events at the site at which the student (or team) participates.

Complimentary admissions may be provided to members of the institution's team for all intercollegiate athletics events in a tournament in which the team is participating, rather than only for the games in which the institution's team participates. However, the contests must be at the site at which the institution's team participates.

General Regulations

Complimentary admissions shall be provided only through a pass list for individuals designated by the student-athlete. "Hard tickets" shall not be issued.

Issuance Procedures

The individual using the complimentary admission must present identification to the person supervising the use of the pass list at the admission gate. The individual then shall be provided a ticket stub or other identification of a specified reserved seat or seating area or treated as a general-admission ticket holder.

Institution's Home Events in Other Sports

An institution may provide admission for each student-athlete to all of the institution's regular-season home intercollegiate athletics events in sports other than that in which the student-athlete is a participant, via a printed student-athlete pass or gate list. Proof of identity shall be required upon admission. North Texas does provide free admission to all home athletic events for all currently enrolled students.

A nonqualifier may receive a complimentary admission to all of the institution's regular-season home intercollegiate athletics events in the first academic year of residence.

Prior to Final Certification

Prior to a student-athlete receiving a final certification from the NCAA Eligibility Center, he or she may only receive one complimentary ticket for his or her own use to attend a home or away athletics contest. A student-athlete may not receive the four complimentary admissions until his or her certification is final.

Complimentary Admissions to an Institution's Home Contest

Honoring a Student-Athlete An institution may provide a maximum of four complimentary admissions to a student-athlete for an institution's game or event during which a student-athlete is being honored but not participating, provided such complimentary admissions are used by the student-athlete's family members.

Nonpermissible Procedures

Sale of Complimentary Admissions

A student-athlete may not receive payment from any source for his or her complimentary admissions and may not exchange or assign them for any item of value.

Payment to Third Party

Individuals designated by the student-athlete to receive complimentary admissions are not permitted to receive any type of payment for the admissions or to exchange or assign them for any item of value. Receipt of payment for complimentary admissions by such designated individuals is prohibited and considered an extra benefit.

Student-Athlete Ticket Purchases

An institution may not provide a special arrangement to sell a student-athlete ticket(s) to an athletics event. Tickets shall be available for purchase by student-athletes according to the same purchasing procedures used for other students.

Sale Above Face Value

A student-athlete may not purchase tickets for an intercollegiate athletics event from the institution and then sell the tickets at a price greater than their face value.

Procedures for Requesting Complimentary Admissions

Step 1
Go to and click: "Student-Athletes"

Step 2

If you know your username and password, enter them now. Then skip to Step 6. If you forgot your password, click "Forgot Your Password?" A new, randomly generated password will be sent to your email address. If you are a new student-athlete and have not set up an account yet, click: "First Time Logging In?"

Step 3

Enter an email address that you check regularly AND your 8-digit UNT ID number and hit: "Send Login Information." This will send a randomly generated password to your email account.

Step 4

Enter your UNT ID number and temporary password (which was sent to your email address) and hit: "Login."

Step 5

If this is your first time logging into ACS, choose the "Change Password" option and reset your password to something that will be easy for you to remember.

Step 6

(a) Choose the "Update Complimentary Guest List" option.

Step 6 (b)

Complete the name, email address, physical address, phone number, and relationship information for the first guest you would like to add to the guest list. Hit: "Save Guest" at the bottom of the page. You will need to repeat this procedure for each guest you would like to add to the guest list. Once you have saved a guest, the Athletic Compliance Office has to approve the guest before you can request complimentary tickets for a specific game. Simply adding a guest to the guest list does not allow that guest to receive complimentary admission to your game. You must also request complimentary tickets for a specific game for each of your guests.

Step 7 (a)

Click: "Request Complimentary Tickets."

Step 7(b)

From the list of events on the left, select the event you would like your guests to attend.

Step 7(c)

Select which guest(s) you would like to receive complimentary admissions to the game listed at the top of the page.

If you will not be using all four of your complimentary admissions for the event listed at the top of the page, you may transfer your remaining tickets to a teammate by using the column on the right of the screen. This will allow your teammate(s) to receive additional tickets to accommodate a larger group they may want to bring to the game.

Once you have selected the guest(s) you would to receive complimentary admissions for the game listed at the top of the page, hit: "Save/Update Requests" at the bottom of the page.

You will need to repeat this process to request complimentary tickets for each game.
