Fayetteville, Ark. (11/9/12) - Senior Jo Adams crossed the
line 16th at the NCAA South Central Regional Championship as North Texas cross
country wrapped up the 2012 season at the Razorback Cross Country Course at
Agri Park.
Adams (21:34.0) was named to the All-Region team for
finishing in the top 25 for the women. The women's team finished 17th with a
total score of 405 points.
Freshman Kaitlyn Newton (24:02.2) finished 97th followed by
fellow freshman Yvette Hernandez (24:05.4) at 100th. Sophomore Leesa Morales
(24:11.4) finished 107th in just her second race of the season.
Freshman Melissa Brito (24:54.9) finished 123rd while
freshmen Laura Cortez (25:07.6) and Kylee Kittrell (25:29.6) finished 128th and
132nd.
Freshman Troy Taylor led the way on the men's side,
finishing 38th with a time of 32:10.7. The men's team finished 13th with a
total score of 288 points.
Junior Matt Russ (32:39.0) finished 48th trailed
by freshmen Silvester Harrison (32:41.2) at 52nd, Alex Hita (33:14.6) at 75th,
Bryce McAndrew (33:42.9) at 86th.
Sophomore Austin Yaeger finished 105th with a time of
34:26.9 followed by Kevin Webb (35:43.2) at 119th.
The Mean Green distance runners will return to action during
the indoor track season, which kicks-off Jan. 12, 2013 at the Texas A&M
12-Team Invitational in College Station, Texas.
