NORMAN, Okla. - Thirteen
top-three finishes marked the completion of the John Jacobs Invitational for Mean
Green track & field on Saturday from the campus of the University of
Oklahoma.
Junior Steven White led the way for North Texas for the
third straight week, claiming first place in the 200-meter dash with a season
best time of 20.90 seconds.
Teammates Clinton Collins (21.14) and CJ Fowler (21.28)
finished immediately behind White in second and third and claimed the third and
fourth best times in the Sun Belt Conference this season in the process.
Fowler also crossed the line in second in the 100-meter dash
with a time of 10.73 seconds.
The women's side was led by Janesa Moore, who claimed second
in the 100-meter dash, fourth in the 200-meter dash and was a member of the
4x100-meter relay that took third.
Suzy Prikryl took home her best finish of the season when
she cleared the bar in the high jump at 1.66 meters and hauled in third
place. Teammate Shahaf Barnei was
fourth, with Chelsea Hermes and Haley Thompson rounding at the next two places.
North Texas also took second and third in the women's
100-meter hurdles when Kendria Burton crossed the line in 14.28 seconds with
Kayla Savoie on her heels at 14.57 seconds.
Mean Green track & field will be back in action next
Saturday, April 21, when it travels to the Michael Johnson Invitational on the
campus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
