DENTON, Tex. (9/15/07) – It was freshman Patrick Strong once again powering the North Texas men’s cross country team to a second place finish at the 30th North Texas Invitational from the Eagle Point Campus. Strong, who won last week in his first Division I race, finished in second place individually with a time of 25:17 in the 8k race. As a team Senior Frank Ngeno was solid as usual for On the women’s side the Mean Green had three top 10 finishes and two in the top 5. Freshman Sallie Anderson led the way in the 5k race with a fourth place time of 19:24. Just seconds behind Jessica Torres had a strong meet with a time of 19:44 to take home ninth place. Emily Sotelo earned a top 20 finish with a time of 20:19 to finish in 19th place. TCU won the women’s team event while The cross country teams are back in action on October 5 at the Memphis Twilight. |
