DENTON, Texas (6/27/09) - The North Texas softball program has announced a new pitching camp that will run for three days in July. New Mean Green pitching coach Lisa Ferguson will operate this new camp. The North Texas Pitching Fundamentals Camp will run for three days, July 20-22. Campers can attend one three-hour session, two sessions or all three. Pitchers are responsible for providing their own catcher. Within the three-day pitching camp, is one a one-day session specifically aimed for catchers. The North Texas Catching Camp will take place on July 21st. Ferguson recently served as the head coach of the Fort Worth Christian Lady Cardinals high school team before becoming an assistant coach with the Mean Green. A four-year letterwinner for the Baylor Bears as a pitcher from 2004-07, Ferguson was a part of a Big XII conference championship, a Women’s College World Series appearance and a fifth-place finish nationally. Online registration will begin on July 13. There is a maximum of 15 campers allowed per session.
