DENTON, Texas (1/26/10) - For a second consecutive week,
sophomore North Texas sprinter Keyth Talley was selected the men's Sun Belt
Conference Indoor Performer of the Week following another dominant performance
over the weekend.
One week after setting a new school record in the
60-meter dash (6.69), Talley followed that up by tying the school record in the
200-meter dash (21.27) and taking first place this past weekend at the Texas
Tech Invitational.
Talley's mark in the 200-meter dash is the best in the
Sun Belt, 12th best in the nation and is currently the fifth best
time in the world on an oversized track.
The Manor High School product also finished second in the
55-meter dash in a time of 6.30, that performance coming on the heels of the
best time overall in the prelims (6.31).
Monday marked the fourth time in Talley's career that he
has been awarded the SBC Performer of the Week and the second in the indoor
season.
North Texas track and field will be back in action next
week when they travel back to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Open on Feb. 6.
