DENTON, Texas (1/8/10) - Riding a four dual win streak, Mean Green Swimming & Diving hit the road to face the No. 18 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday morning at the Arkansas Natatorium in Fayetteville, Ark.
North Texas (6-3) swam well Wednesday night in Little Rock, defeating both UALR and Henderson State by scores of 65-29. The Mean Green swimmers finished in first place in all 11 events. With the victories, North Texas head coach Joe Dykstra became the all-time winningest coach in program history, registering his 17th and 18th dual victories. Arkansas (4-1) comes into the dual having not swam since November 22 where they finished third at the Purdue Invitational. Saturday's match-up will mark the sixth time that the Mean Green have taken the pool with a CSCAA/CollegSwimming.com nationally ranked team. North Texas has already swam against No. 2 Arizona, No. 4 Texas, No. 8 Auburn, No. 17 Wisconsin and No. 19 SMU. The Mean Green has also faced two Mid-Major ranked opponents in No. 9 Denver and No. 15 UC-Davis. North Texas will return home before facing cross-town rival Texas Christian next Friday, Jan. 15 in Fort Worth, Texas. |
