DENTON, Texas (11/18/09) - North Texas Swimming & Diving debuted at No. 15 in the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll released on Tuesday.
The Mean Green (5-3) is one of three Sun Belt teams ranked in the poll, the others being Denver at No. 10 and Western Kentucky at No. 4. Denver defeated North Texas Oct. 24 in Denver 182.5-116.5, in the only meeting of the two schools before the conference championships, which will take place Feb. 17-20 in Nashville, Tenn. North Texas' schedule is loaded with teams in the major top 25 poll, having already dueled No. 18 SMU, and duals with No. 8 Texas A&M and #17 Arkansas coming later in the season. The Mean Green will head to Austin, Texas for the Texas Invitational Dec. 3-5, where they will face off with nationally ranked teams like No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Texas and No. 16 Wisconsin. |
