DENTON, Texas (11/11/09) – Junior diver Kendall Schmid was named the Sun Belt Conference’s Diver of the Week the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Schmid, who is in her first year at North Texas, won both the one and three meter dives in a double dual against Austin College and Southwestern.

“Kendall is just starting to get her confidence back,” said diving coach Jim Pyrch. “She took a year off and is really starting to get it back together.  I’m proud of what she accomplished last weekend.”

Both her one meter score of 217.95 and her three meter score of 211.87 marked the highest she has collected as a member of the Mean Green Swimming & Diving team.

North Texas will be back in the pool December 3-5 in Austin, Texas at the Texas Invitational.
