Mean Green Go 2-0 Saturday Against Austin College, Southwestern

SHERMAN, Texas
(11/7/09) – North Texas Swimming & Diving wrapped up the weekend in
grand style as they captured both duals Saturday afternoon against Austin
College and Southwestern.
The Mean Green Swimming team took first place in every race it
competed in and defeated Austin College 216-58 and Southwestern 218-50
respectively.
Becca Ploetz and Sarah Standlee had big days for North Texas
winning every race they competed in. Standlee took both backstroke events while
Becca Ploetz was part of two relay victories and won the 200 yard freestyle by
over six seconds with a time of 1:58.65 and the 500 yard freestyle by nearly 15
with a time of 5:23.91.
The North Texas divers had another big day as well, with
Kendall Schmid winning both the one meter (217.95) and three meter boards (211.87)
and teammate Monica Wolfe taking second on the one meter with a score of 176.25.
Mean Green Swimming will be back in action Thursday Dec. 3rd
thru Sat. Dec. 5th at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.
