Green Gang: After a complicated season of lineup tinkering and chemistry refining, things are finally very simple for the Mean Green volleyball team - win two more matches and you're in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Head coach Cassie Headrick has had her hands full getting her troops pointed in the right direction. The talent has doubtlessly been there, but 13 different starting lineups attest to the youthful and often schizophrenic nature of the 2009 Mean Green.

But lately, the team seems to have found its stride, and it couldn't have come at a better time. NT has won three of its last five matches, and the two losses were both in five sets. The below chart illustrates how NT has matured this season in attack percentage, opponent attack percentage and kills per set.

                  Att %        Opp Att%      Kills
Overall        .178          .197              11.8
Sun Belt     .209          .205              12.7
Last 5         .240          .187              13.7

The next bit of good news is that the Mean Green will be facing a pair of teams this weekend that it already handled on the road earlier this year. NT swept ULM back on Oct. 2 before knocking off the Ragin' Cajuns the following night.

The seniors will get their moment in the spotlight on Saturday afternoon with Senior Day presentations. Salah Schoenecke, Jessica Green and Marelle Lepmets will be honored for their commitments to the program over the last two years prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. match against New Orleans.
