DENTON, Texas (10/26/09) - The North Texas volleyball team carried the momentum from its weekend wins, but costly errors proved too much to overcome in a five-set (25-20, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12) loss to Denver on Monday night.

The Mean Green (9-16, 5-6 Sun Belt) rebounded from a first-set setback with a dominating defensive showing in set two, and forced the fifth and deciding set by making DU (12-13, 7-4 Sun Belt) hit -.053 in the fourth. Emmy Davidsmeyer took over in the fifth with four kills on five attacks to vault the Pioneers to victory.

After knocking off South Alabama and Troy on the road last weekend, NT committed 35 attack errors and 11 service errors against DU - both season-highs. In fact, North Texas practically gave the Pioneers the fifth set with nine attack errors.

North Texas posted a potent blocking effort all evening from its inside duo of Kati Dillard and Brittany Brown. Dillard tallied nine total blocks, including a match-high two solo efforts, and the freshman got in front of five blocks.

Roxana Casvean and Amy Huddleston led the Mean Green offensively with 14 kills each. Kayla Saey was more than effective with 49 assists for NT.

Jessica Green posted 15 digs and Sarah Willey wasn't far behind with 12.

North Texas returns to the court on Friday night against UALR. Action kicks off from the Mean Green Volleyball Center at 7 p.m.
