DENTON, Texas (12/22/09) - In preparation for the site work that will begin in January, approximately
60 trees are being moved from the new North Texas football stadium location.
The site work for the new football stadium will not begin until January, but there is digging going on at the Mean Green Village. Trees are being moved from the future site of the football stadium, and as many as possible are being relocated around the Mean Green Village.
The
trees will be hand dug to increase the survival rate. The
trees that will be relocated will stay on campus and be spread throughout the
Mean Green Village.
The
UNT Grounds department is managing this project, which will continue through the
holidays. The trees
should be moved by the first week in January to make way for the site work.
